The Lee-Russell Aging Foundation is a 501C3 entity. Its intent is to raise awareness for aging related issues while raising funds to supplement the programs

that are administered through the Area Agency on Aging at the Lee-Russell Council of Governments. Our feature events include:


Every last Monday of each month, LCROG Area Agency on Aging will host the Care-N-Share Support Group meeting at the Opelika Sportsplex. The time for the meeting is 12:30pm CST -for more information please contact Leisa Askew.


Courage Caregivers Conference

Making Ethical Decisions: How to Integrate the Revised NASW Code of Ethics into Practice.

Course Goal:
To identify and explore ethical decision making in professional Social Work practice with particular attention to the new NASW Code of Ethics regulations.
 Course Outcome:
To equip professional social workers with the tools needed to make ethical decisions in accordance with the revised and recently released NASW Code of Ethics
Course Objectives:

                    1. Review revisions and changes in the NASW Code of Ethics.

                    2. Describe professional social work values and responsibilities.

                    3. Explore professional social work values and self-awareness

                    4. Identify how revisions might impact ethical decision-making processes.

                    5. Apply the ethical decision-making framework to at least one case example.

This workshop will identify and explore recent revisions to the NASW Code of Ethics.  The goals will be to investigate differences and similarities in professional social work values, and responsibilities as outlined in the revised Code. We will discuss frameworks for helping professional social workers make collaborative, informed, and ethical decisions in accordance with the code revisions. We will explore how social work values and responsibilities inform the ethical decision-making process and practice. The workshop aims to equip social workers with the tools needed to ethically and professionally navigate professional practice decisions in real time under the new NASW Code of Ethics.
