How to Use LR Rides

1. Get Access: Four Easy Options

Click to book a ride directly on the website.

Scan to open or download the LR Rides app on your phone.

Click to download the LR Rides app to your Android device.

Click to download the LR Rides app to your iPhone.

Remember: You can still call our dispatchers for LRPT at 334.749.9092 between the hours of 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Central Mon-Fri or for PEX Paratransit at 877.743.3739 between the hours of 9:00 am-5:00 pm Eastern Mon-Fri to book a ride.

2. Log in

If you are an LRPT Rider and have an account, log in. If not, set up your account. Just follow the directions onscreen. HELP is available in the Menu.

NOTE: To Sign up for PEX Paratransit rides, contact PEX at 877.743.3739.

3. Follow the prompts

Just follow the prompts and enter the information about when, where and details of your ride and special needs.

4. Available rides will appear on screen.

If no rides are available, try different times.

5. Get Ready

Be at your pick up point 5 minutes before your pick up WINDOW begins. (30 minutes before your ride time.)

Tips for LRPT and PEX Riders

LRPT On-Demand Service is open to the general public.

LRPT On-Demand Service is open to the general public. ANYONE CAN RIDE.  IT DOES NOT REQUIRE CERTIFICATION FROM A PHYSICIAN.   

LRPT Operating Times

6:00 AM – 6:00 PM CT.  The last pick-up is at 5:30 PM CT. 

PEX Paratransit service is an ADA-compliant service

PEX Paratransit service is an ADA-compliant service that requires a physician’s certification form. Contact PEX to apply at 877.743.3739.

PEX Operating Times

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM ET.  The last pick-up is at 3:30 PM ET. 

Curb-to-Curb Service

Curb–to–curb Service is provided by LRPT and PEX Paratransit. The driver can assist passengers into the vehicle from the curb, but is not allowed to enter the home, garage or office building at pick up or drop off.   

Special Needs Accommodations

When scheduling a ride, please note your special needs, and we will gladly arrange a bus that accommodates you.  If you need further assistance after your trip has begun, please tell your driver.

First Come, First Served.

Rides are based on availability. The earlier you book, the better your chances of scheduling a ride when you need it.

No Will Calls.

Schedule your return trip when you schedule your ride. Especially for appointments, anticipate the longest appointment time so you won’t miss your return pick up. Should this happen, you can attempt to schedule a return in the LR Rides app but only if there is an available bus.

Individuals under 14

Individuals under 14 must be accompanied by an adult over 18. Exceptions must be approved by the LRPT Transit Director.

Driver Wait Time.

Your driver is allowed to wait FIVE (5) minutes past the scheduled pick up or arrival time. Passengers who haven’t boarded by then are considered “no-shows”.

Holiday Schedules

LRPT and PEX Paratransit are closed on these holidays:

New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. 

Other holiday closings may be added and announced through the website and various media.
